Moderators isaac42 Posted December 17, 2015 Moderators Share Posted December 17, 2015 At least it feels like a big show. The leader of one of the bands I play in has been trying to get us into the casino for some time. Finally, this weekend, we're playing at Chinook Winds. Not the main casino, unfortunately, but the lounge in the hotel attached. Still, it's a foot in the door. If they like us, it could lead to bigger things in the future. I don't mind saying that I'm a little bit nervous. That doesn't happen often. Anybody want to come to Lincoln City, Oregon, and cheer us on? Members DeepEnd
Congratulations on the gig and Good Luck. Unfortunately, I'm over 2,000 miles away and my wife and I have concert tickets to see the Melvin Turnage Band (http://www.melvinturnageband.com/). Otherwise, I'd actually love to come out and see/hear a fellow forumite.

Members Mr.Grumpy
I think Casinos are one of the few venues paying decent money for live bands. Hope it leads to more paying gigs.

Moderators isaac42 Posted December 21, 2015 Author Moderators Share Posted December 21, 2015 Turned out, wasn't such a big gig after all. No stage. No lights. Used our own sound system. We played in the Seafood Grill restaurant and lounge. Staff seemed to like us, as did the few people who came in. Stuffed ourselves at the buffet - I gained at least two pounds over the weekend! - swam in the pool, sat in the hot tub. But with rooms and meals and a little bit of money, we'd gladly do it again. And there are three more casinos within driving distance.
Phil O'Keefe
If you can get in with the people who book casinos and do them on a semi-regular basis, it's probably one of the better paying gigs you'll find today. Hope you get more opportunities like this, and glad to hear you had a good time Issac!
