Members DeepEnd
First, you need to know what speaker you intend to use. Let's say you've chosen the Eminence BassLite S2012: http://usspeaker.com/bass%20liteS2012-1.htm. Take the Thiele/Small parameters and plug them into a suitable calculator such as this one: http://www.micka.de/org/en/. From there, you can figure out the size of the box you need. The dimensions should be based on odd prime numbers like 3, 5, 7 to avoid resonances. As for construction, you can find good information here: http://www.dancetech.com/construction.cfm and probably a design you can adapt to your needs. Members WynnD
I'd just look for a Hartke Kickback. 10, 12 or 15. Small with a built in DI they're very useful and practical. I even use mine as an emergency additional powered stage monitor. (12".)
Members DeepEnd
Checking your local CraigsList, I found a couple of possibilities. Here's a Traynor cab for $50 http://montreal.en.craigslist.ca/msg/5106402341.html. No idea what's in it if anything--it could be an empty cab--but it's 33"X20".Here's something else that might work, $75 http://montreal.en.craigslist.ca/msg/5072091019.html. Nominally a PA speaker/monitor but it could work in a pinch.
