Wanting to learn how to play slap bass

               Hi Guys

I need a little help here im wanting to learn how to play slap bass I have been playing bass now for years

I have never leared how to slap the bass do you know of a good dvd that could teach me?

That's a video by bassist Flea from RHCP. There's a portion of the video where he explains his slap technique. The only difference is he plucks with his middle finger, whereas most people pluck with their index finger. However, there's no right or wrong way to do it, once you develop your own feel for the technique.

Also keep in mind that slap bass on an upright is a different animal and a common situation is having difficulty slapping on the G and E string. mainly because the G string is much lighter and the E is much heavier and they are at opposite side of the fingerboard. With each fingerboard being a little different for each upright be prepared to spend some time experimenting.
