Brand new iOS app with Propellerhead’s legendary sound makes music making fun, fast and direct
Stockholm, Sweden (April 04, 2012) – Today  Propellerhead announces the immediate availability of Figure for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. Fast, streamlined and fun, Figure enables even an inexperienced musician to make amazing sounding original music in seconds. [See video intro: www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLLjRH6GJec ]

Figure for iOS is designed from the ground up for mobile environments where users want to make some music fast. Even non-musicians will quickly be playing their own beats and songs with drums, bass and lead parts. With an incredibly easy-to-use touch interface, Figure offers a huge amount of control with simple gestures. Figure is deceptively deep, facilitating many ways to tweak sounds and parameters—making it entertaining and inspiring to use for a minute or for hours. With major synth power under its hood, powered by Propellerhead’s Reason, Figure sounds phenomenal too.
“In our foray into music making mobile applications we have discovered the interface and operating environment are, of course, different from a computer’s—touch, small screen, earphones, no external input devices, etc. However, mobile users’ aspirations are quite different as well. They desire immediacy, a diversion, to start playing fast and most of all to have fun,” says Ernst Nathorst-Böös, CEO of Propellerhead. “Figure fits those needs,  giving people the great sound we’re known for in an extremely engaging way.”
Figure highlights
• Make songs with drums, bass and lead synth
• Play by sliding a finger across the play pad
• Always stay in key and on the beat
• No previous playing skills required
• Tweak and twist tracks on the fly
• Sounding amazing has never been this easy
• The sound of Reason on an iPhone, powered by Kong drum designer and Thor synthesizer

The  industry standard loop slicer receives a complete interface overhaul,  workflow enhancements, Mac OS X Lion compatibility and more.

Stockholm, Sweden, January 31, 2012 — Propellerhead has released ReCycle version 2.2 for sale—an update to the industry standard tool that  creates REX files. Sporting a completely overhauled graphical user  interface, ReCycle 2.2 adds new key commands, workflow enhancements and a  new Online Help system—making Recycle even faster and easier to use. Version 2.2 is a 64-bit compatible application with  full support for Windows 7 and Mac OS X Lion operating systems.

prop.jpg

About ReCycle

An  industry standard, ReCycle is the fastest way to make sampled material  your own. ReCycle lets you do with sampled loops what you can do with  beats programmed from individual drum sounds—like alter the tempo, or replace sounds and  process them individually. Producers use Recycle for making loops  tempo-independent, for quick editing of sampled parts, chopping up  riffs, remixing and doing mash ups

Load any loop or musical phrase into ReCycle. The program will look at  the file, analyze it, and slice it up into its rhythmic components. The  file can then be rearranged, pitched or have its tempo freely adjusted.  Artists have full control over the individual slices and can alter the timing or even quantize the groove, keep the  feel of the loop and replace the sounds with their own. Or load the file  into a software sampler and trigger the individual parts from a MIDI  keyboard to turn the sampled material into a completely new performance.

A favorite among sound designers and producers, ReCycle’s REX file  format is supported by all major music software titles including  applications such as Apple Logic, Avid Pro Tools, Steinberg Cubase,  Cakewalk Sonar, Ableton Live, MOTU Digital Performer and Propellerhead Reason, as well as software instruments such as Native  Instruments Kontakt and Spectrasonics Stylus RMX.

Three new Creator Series ReFills bring renowned rock and punk producer's drum sounds into the hands of any musician

Stockholm, Sweden, January 25, 2012 — What do Megadeth, Jay-Z, Alice Cooper, Gladys Knight, NOFX, Lagwagon, No Use For a Name, Patty La Belle, Tower of Power have in common with Rock Band and Guitar Hero? Legendary punk rock producer and mixer Ryan Greene. And now anyone can be on that list, with three new drum ReFills featuring Ryan Greene’s signature sound. Propellerhead today released the latest installments in its ReFill Creator Series: Ryan Greene Alt Drums.

Ryan Greene Alt Drums comes as three separate volumes, each containing three drum kits with several microphone setups and alternate snares. Each of the three ReFills comes with preset patches for Reason's Combinator device, with three different microphone setups: close mics, no ambience mics, and all mics; Producer Combinator patches with dry, overhead, and room microphone setups; Individual Kit Pieces for the NN-XT sampler; effects patches; as well as 100+ drum track MIDI files created by Ryan Greene. The sounds are fully produced; finished drum kits with kick drums with big bottom and snare drums with punch. Thanks to the premade patches using different  microphone setups and production techniques, no additional mixing is  required from users to get a great sound that sits right in the mix.

ryan.jpg

“All the sounds have been tested in real applications throughout the recording process to make sure they hold up under heavy fire, which basically means up against huge guitar and bass sounds,” says Ryan Greene.

Ryan Greene Alt Drums ReFills Series:

- Alt Drums I

The  first Alt Drums ReFill features Ryan Greene’s own Pork Pie kit, used on  a lot of Greene’s Punk/Fat Wreck Chords productions throughout the  years, as well as a versatile Gretsch kit and a deep sounding vintage Leedy kit. An additional three  snares are included, ranging from classic rock sound to heavier punk.

- Alt Drums II

The  star of the Alt Drums II ReFill is a 1964 Ludwig Liverpool kit —  recorded and produced as if it was played by the Mötley Crüe, bringing a  sound like no other. This pack also has a vintage Leedy kit customized by the John Covington and a Tama  kit played by Troy Luccketta of the band Tesla. Added are three more  snare drums, including a Leedy from the 1890’s (!)

- Alt Drums III

For  Alt Drums III Troy Luccketta from multi-platinum rock band Tesla played  a one of a kind Camco kit. The aggressive and warm sound of this kit  built in 1956, and all the power that Troy brings when he hits a drum makes it a go-to kit for punk  and rock productions. Included are also a wooden Ayotte kit, and a big  and powerful Leedy kit with a 28-inch kick drum. Three extra snare drums  come with the pack, among them the rare Yamaha Vinnie Colaiuta, and the Dave Weckl signature model.

All you need is Reason

Introducing Reason, version 6. The world's favorite music making platform is about to get a whole lot bigger, better, and ready for any idea you throw at it

Reason is a virtual studio rack with all the tools and instruments you need to turn your ideas into music. With its generous sound bank  and intuitive flow, Reason helps you along in the creative process and is the music software that never gets in your way.

Walk into any professional recording studio and you will see racks filled to the brim with different tools used in music production from reverb to compressors, vocoders, synths, distortion units, and parametric EQs. The studio's rack is the heart of  its creative factory.  Reason and Record are no different. That is why we have outfitted your computer with a virtual rack filled with all the same gear. They look and function exactly like their hardware cousins.  Even better, they sound just as good too.

Unlike a real studio, however, if you want another synth or an extra compressor you can create one from a menu rather than taking that second job or signing up for those experimental clinical drug trials.

In stores September 30th, 2011

Mix in studio grade quality

The fully equipped mixing desk adds a big studio signal chain to all your sound sources. Every audio and  instruments track has its own channel strip — the built-in EQ, dynamics and advanced routing will give your music that unmistakable million-dollar console sound. The “radio ready” master bus compressor gives your mixes that extra punch.

Pulveriser

Pulveriser  puts crunchy compression, dirty distortion, a multimode filter and  flexible modulation in a single, sound-crunching effect.

The Echo

The Echo is an advanced stereo echo bringing together the brilliance of modern delays with the organic sounds of analog circuitry and old-school tape machines. The Echo is equal parts pristine stereo delay, sound sculpturing toolbox, and playable performance effect.

Alligator

Alligator is a three band pattern-based gate effect that turns bland pads into rhythmic textures, radically twists your loops, and tweak boring beats into blockrocking breaks.

Integrated with Reason Essentials for the perfect music making solution

Stockholm, Sweden (July 12, 2011) –
Propellerhead Software today  unveiled Balance, its first audio interface and foray into hardware.  Integrated with Reason Essentials Software, Balance is at the heart of  Propellerhead’s complete music making solution.

propellerheadBalance.jpg

Balance, a two-in by two-out audio interface for Mac and Windows, is  designed for the single person operated home/project studio. Fully USB 2  powered with separate volume controls for monitors and headphones, it  contains 8 input connections to keep all instruments, mics and devices  connected and ready to record with the press of a button—without  software pop-ups or control panels. The included Reason Essentials packs  in all the recording editing, effects, instruments and mixing tools  needed to create great sounding tracks.

“We looked at recording from our musician users’ perspective. They were  spending time concerned with issues other than music making—riddled in  installing software, managing cables, setting up control panels, setting  gain levels, tweaking recording parameters, and more. It frankly wasn’t  as easy and straightforward and it should be,” says Ernst  Nathorst-Böös, CEO. “So, we were compelled to create Balance with Reason  Essentials to let them focus on creativity and not on technology.”

Works with everyone, perfect integration with Reason and Reason Essentials
Balance’s class compliant drivers on the Mac and ASIO/WMD driver for  Windows ensure hassle free installation and compatibility with all  applications from iTunes to ProTools. Integration with Propellerhead  products goes further. Hardware buttons on Balance bring up a large  meter/tuner in Reason and can also enable “Clip Safe,” Propellerhead’s  new recording technology that with one click heals clipped recorded  audio. Musicians no longer have to worry about losing a great recording  because gain levels were too high, and can stay focused on creating that  goose bump evoking performance.

Pricing & availability
Reason Essentials with Balance audio interface will be available for  purchase worldwide on September 30, 2011 at a suggested retail price of
EUR €499 / USD $499.

Any current Reason and Record user who purchases Balance can receive the Reason 6 upgrade for free.

Propellerhead Software today announced the immediate availability of Reason  Disco School ReFill for Reason, Propellerhead’s award-winning music production  system. The Reason Disco School ReFill library explores the classic sounds that  came out of three of Disco’s biggest capitals: New York, Los Angeles and  Philadelphia.

Ranging from old  school Philadelphia layers of lush strings, through club beats of New York in  the late 1970's to the slick styles of Los Angeles, Disco School brings six  songs in three different keys, from simple two-chord progressions to more  complex themes.

All sounds of  Reason Disco School are sourced from the complete songs; each composed, arranged  and produced for Reason Disco School. The musical elements – bass, drums,  guitars, strings, keyboards, percussion and horns – are provided in  Propellerhead’s tempo-independent REX format, and easily fit into any modern  club track or old-school hip hop production, or as a starting point for song  creation.

Included in the  ReFill is also a collection of multisampled drums for use with Reason’s NN-XT  sampler and powerful Combinator device. Additionally, for club music, Disco  School comes packed with electronic drums, claps and toms designed by electronic  music artist, DJ and producer Sharooz. On top of all the disco grooves and  loops, Reason Disco School provides a collection of instruments based on the  ElectroMechanical ReFill (a free downloadable ReFill for any registered Reason  owner). Reverb and distortion effects are included, as well as “needle drop”  snippets of sampled grooves to round out the library.

Propellerhead today released Reason Record
Education for sale—new packages consolidating the Reason Record application suite at
a special price for schools and institutions. Available in license packs of 1, 5 and
10, Reason Record Education pairs the world-renowned, award-winning music production
environment Reason with Record, the recording software for musicians.

In the classroom, the Reason and Record combination has many distinct advantages
over other music software programs, allowing students to focus on music creation and
production, not system maintenance and software incompatibilities. Students can
freely experiment and find solutions to audio problems while maintaining creative
flow during music production, invariably spending more time on their projects and
assignments.

Reason and Record’s studio simulation metaphor allows students to configure (and
reconfigure) a complete sound studio, selecting and wiring audio processors and
generators, while the large format console model provides a rare chance for students
to prepare for work in large, professional studios.

Propellerhead’s network multilicense system lets schools install the Reason and
Record on as many computers as they like. With an Ignition Key connected to the USB
port on a server or a computer on the network, the system will allow students launch
the software on any computer on the network until the license limit is reached.
