Complete professional PA system in a single, mobile, self-contained unit ––

MELVILLE, NY, October 17, 2011 — HK Audio announces the SoundCaddy One system. The SoundCaddy One provides the benefits of a line array/woofer combo in a compact and portable format. Inside the SoundCaddy One are three six-inch bass speakers, six three-and-a-half-inch mid/high drivers, a 600-Watt class D amplifier and   a complete four-channel mixer. This innovative PA system is completely self-contained, and can be used for both speech and music.

HK.jpg
As a single, self-contained unit, the SoundCaddy One provides plug-and-play convenience. Easy to transport, the SoundCaddy One can be moved into position on its built-in wheels. A firm push on its top releases the mid/high array, which rises from the cabinet on a pneumatic lift. Once adjusted to the desired height, it can be twisted to lock into place.

The back panel offers access to a full four-channel mixer. The mono channels (Mic In and Combi In) are each equipped with a Neutrik XLR/Guitar combo input, a volume knob and a tone control. Next to those are two stereo channels (Line In, Aux In), each offering a Volume and a Contour control. The Combi In channel features two Neutrik combo inputs; the Aux In provides both stereo RCA jacks and a single stereo eighth-inch input. Using the XLR Line Out, a second SoundCaddy One can be connected to create a fuller stereo or dual-mono system. Recording Out (RCA Stereo) jacks allow connections to other equipment. The Bass Level control makes it easy to balance the highs and lows.

For power, the SoundCaddy One houses a 600-Watt Class D amplifier. Three six-inch bass drivers provide a tight, deep low-end sound. The pop-up  line array contains six 3.5-inch broad band speakers that together deliver excellent reach, intelligibility, and an easy-to-aim 70-degree horizontal dispersion that provides deep coverage while eliminating unwanted reflections. The SoundCaddy One renders  speech and music with authority and power, and can easily provide satisfying full-range sound for smaller concert venues.

The 19-millimeter birch cabinet construction features cutaway handles, integrated wheels and protective skid guards. A protective cover is included.

HK Audio SoundCaddy One is now available at select U.S. retailers with an MSRP of $4000.00.

— Popular German-based Pro Audio company brings its modular line array technology to the U.S.—

SUMMER NAMM SHOW, NASHVILLE, TN, July 21, 2011 — Available this year for the first time in the U.S., HK Audio (booth 800) offers its Elements modular sound reinforcement systems, which merges the benefits of modern line array technology with the portability and easy handling of ultra-compact P.A. systems. Elements enables users to easily put together a system suitable for every situation using just six easy-to-combine components. The system can be configured to support anything from an intimate speaking engagement to a multi-instrumental concert with a full 3600 Watts of Front of House power. Due to their modular nature, Elements systems can be expanded rather than replaced as needs change, or quickly reconfigured for specific tasks.

In addition to dynamic subwoofers, Elements systems use multiple smaller speakers – a line array – to deliver even coverage and a uniform sound level. The precise 70° dispersion angle minimizes unwanted reflections, providing a coherent sonic image that helps to eliminate feedback. Musical quality and speech clarity are both greatly improved.

Setting up the Elements system and tearing it down again is quick and easy. With E-Connect, HK’s proprietary integrated signal routing system, even the largest Elements setup is performance-ready in just a few minutes with a minimum of cabling. From two pounds to forty-two pounds, each single Element can be effortlessly carried, transported and stored. Custom-fit protective soft cases and covers are available. Due to the extremely compact and rugged design, every configuration fits into a compact car, for ease of transportation.

The Elements system consists of the following components:

E435: The elegant mid/high unit is made from extruded aluminum, is strictly based on line array technology, and provides a rich, even sound field. It houses four 3.5” broadband speakers, and with its mere 5.2 lbs., it’s a true lightweight. Thanks to E-Connect, the E435 quickly and easily connects with other modules.

EA600: Aesthetically and performance-wise, this amp module blends in well with the E435. The Class D power amp puts out 600 Watts, enough for four mid/high units or one passive sub and two additional mid/high units. Weighing only 6.1 lbs., the EA600 is a breeze to tote.

EF45: This stand is equipped with extendable feet, serving as a solid base for mid/high units, amp modules or the mounting pole.

E110SubA: This portable 10" subwoofer weighs only 41.9 lbs. and delivers a precise low end. The digital Class D power amp provides 600 watts, enough to feed another passive subwoofer or two more mid/high units. Equipped with two E-Connect sockets, the E110SubA also serves as a base for additional elements. The integral handle makes it comfortable to carry.

E110Sub: For applications requiring more low-end, this passive sub is the ideal add-on. It is powered by an active E110 or an amp module. To accommodate auxiliary elements, this sub is also equipped with an E-Connect socket.

EP1: The mounting pole facilitates rigging up smaller Elements setups. It is continuously adjustable and provides cordless signal routing to the mid/high units.

For safe and convenient transport, three models of protective bags are available. One model holds four mid/high units or amp modules and a mounting pole, another fits one stand, and a third fits one subwoofer.

HK Audio Elements is now available at select U.S. retailers with pricing as follows:

E435 – Mid/High Unit

$549.00
EA600 – Class-D 600W Power Amp$839.00

Iron Maiden, one of the world's biggest Heavy Metal acts ever, are currently touring the planet to promote their new album "The final Frontier". Not as old and evil looking as their band mascot Eddie but definitely also an important element for a succesful show is drummer Nicko Mc Brain's HK AUDIO ConTour Series drumfill system that has been part of his backline already for more than six years.

Comments Nicko: "Once I have found the equipment that suits my needs best, I like to keep using it as long as possible: I have been using Premier Drums and Paiste cymbals for a very long time and I am very happy with their equipment. Since 2005, HK AUDIO has joined the little group of suppliers I work with. I use two ConTour Series CT 112 monitors and an SL 218 2x18" subwoofer as my drumfill system. We're quite a loud band on stage as you can imagine, so I need a system that has lots of power and headroom. With vocals, three guitars a bass player like Steve Harris and the amount of kit that I have, it is also important that the system offers a very precise and natural reproduction of the given signals - and this is exactly what my HK AUDIO rig delivers. Over three world tours and several festival shows, this system has never let us down and keeps annoying my band mates night after night as I like it loud," he laughs. "The mid/high units of Nicko's drumfill system receive two different sends from the monitor console so that each CT 112 cabinet just deals with parts of the whole bands' signals. The subwoofer receives a mono signal from Bass and Kickdrum. This ends up in a better resolution and more headroom," comments monitor engineer Steve "Gonzo" Smith.

At the beginning of February Elements dealers from Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg visited the HK Audio headquarter in St. Wendel Germany, for a two day product training seminar. After a short introduction about the history of HK Audio the seminar got straight to the point. Elements, the new, outstanding sound reinforcement system of HK Audio was presented with all its advantages and user benefits and discussed by all participants in detail. An extensive listening session in the HK Audio demo theatre gave the 30 participants a unique opportunity to experience the outstanding sound quality and performance of Elements under real life conditions.

A very special experience at the following day was the factory tour through the whole production of HK Audio. “I’ve been selling HK Audio successfully for years now. Experiencing the precisions that everyone applies during the development, testing and manufacturing the products in Germany is very impressive. One can feel the competence and knowledge that HK Audio has in all theses processes. This trip really confirmed my confidence in this brand.” explained Steffen van der Wallen of Muziek & Visie in Antwerp about the factory tour.

Approximately 600 dealers display and sell HK Audio products throughout Europe and convince their customers with their competence and knowledge. Excited consumers are the basis for their and also our own success – today as well as in the future. It was great to welcome so many dealers in our factory and show them the advantages of HK Audio“ added Andreas Mayerl, International Sales Director of HK Audio.

After another listening session of the remaining HK Audio product range and a questions and answers session the visitors went back home, enthusiastically and newly trained.

HK Audio will take part in the 2010 Integrated Systems Europe, marking the company's first showing as an exhibitor at the fair. The ISE show in Amsterdam is relatively new, but has already become one of Europe's top systems integration showcases. Although the fair has featured mainly fixed audiovisual installations, professional audio solutions are gaining ground. This growing interest prompted HK Audio, a leading provider of audio systems, to make its debut appearance at the 2010 ISE show. HK Audio marketing manager Philipp Wrede notes, "HK Audio has seen significant growth in professional fixed installations in recent years. What's more, our marketing efforts in 2010 will focus on several new products designed for fixed installation, so it certainly makes sense for us to take part in the ISE. In fact, we will unveil some models for the first time at the fair." The ISE provides an excellent platform for HK Audio to present its range of installation products to a select audience of professionals, many of whom may not attend other fairs. The 2010 ISE show will take place on February 2 to 4 in Amsterdam.

ICON LTS (Long-Throw System) is a digitally controlled, horn-loaded, active PA that sets new standards for performance and digital signal management capability. The primary design brief of the ICON LTS was for usage in ground-stacked configurations at events where conditions or budget constraints prevent you from flying a PA. It combines easy, intuitive operation with true, articulate response and considerable sound pressure. ICON LTS' ability to satisfy the diverse requirements of so many different applications—e.g. top-40 cover bands, open-air concerts in the city, club dates, tents, road shows, and mobile dance events—make the system an excellent choice for rental companies and professional bands. ICON LTS is a self-contained active system engineered to deliver excellent sound. The horn-driven 12"/1.4" IC 112 LA mid-/high unit, with its 60¿¿ x 40¿¿ CD horn design and outstanding directivity, features an onboard digital controller that serves as the stack's control center. Two 18" band-pass subwoofers provide the low-end kick for the full stack. State-of-the-art Class-D power amp technology delivers the reach and range to throw these signals across great distances at remarkable sound pressure levels. The IC 112 LA mid/high unit is driven in biamp mode with a 1,000-watt/4-Ohm amplifier for the midrange and a 600-watt/4-Ohm amp module for the highs. The IC 118 BA subwoofers each have an integrated 2,000-watt/4-Ohm amp module. Maximum SPL of the system is 136dB (peak) in half space. The onboard electronics are based on those of the well-established HK AUDIO DSM 2060 rack controller. PC software allows the operator to monitor the controller's key performance parameters, such as level, power amp temperature, and impedance. An eight-band parametric EQ, a two-band shelving EQ, a high-low pass filter, as well as Gain, Delay, Phase, and Mute controls enable you to tweak settings and adapt the system to suit the venue. ICON LTS will be shipping in September 2009. Demo systems are now available exclusively through HK AUDIO's distribution partners.

The PR:O 210 Sub combines stunning low-end performance with space saving design uncompromising sound quality, unparalleled modularity and hence great flexibility — these hallmark features have been the key to success for the PREMIUM PR:O series from day one — not only for the so called hard working musicians. This Musikmesse, HK AUDIO premieres the PR:O 210 Sub, the second subwoofer of the PREMIUM PR:O series. With its two speciallz designed 10" woofers built into a painstakingly optimized bass-reflex enclosure the PR:O 210 Sub delivers an astounding low-end performance accompanied by a hearty, well-defined kick. Owing to its compact size, conveniently suited for vertical and horizontal setup, and its surprisingly low weight of under 26 kg, the PR:O 210 Sub provides an excellent alternative for its brother, the PR:O 18 Sub, whenever an unobtrusive and space-saving solution without sonic compromises is imperative. The PR:O 210 Sub is available in a passive and a powered version, the latter equipped with a 600 watts Class D digital power amp. As of now, the PREMIUM PR:O range comprises of three full-range cabinets (PR:O 15, PR:O 12 and PR:O 8), two bi-functional, feedback resistant cabinets (PR:O 10X, PR:O 15X, also suitable for monitoring), two subs (PR:O 210 Sub and PR:O 18 Sub)and the PR:O 12 M floor monitor. All cabinets come with professional plywood enclosures and offer stage-proven features as the HK AUDIO DuoTilt™ pole mount (not on PR:O 18/210 Sub and PR:O 12 M) and ergonomically shaped and positioned handles for easy transport. To facilitate the use of both powered and passive components in one system, the powered cabinets are equipped with a parallel speaker out which allows to power another passive cabinet.

The new protective covers for the PREMIUM PR:O series, made from extra sturdy synthetics, not only save the cabinets from nasty scratches and bruises they also offer perfect protection during rainy outdoor events. A speciallly designed acoustic fleece is placed right in front of the speakers thus keeping the speakers out of harm's and humidity's way. As the acoustic fleece will not alter the cabinet's sonic characteristics it can stay there even while the show is going on. Equally well protected against the ill-effects of open-air events is the rear panel with its electronics and connectors. The protective covers do not constrain the flexibility of the cabinets as they can still be placed on a pole mount or used as a floor monitor, and for easy handling the covers are equipped with solid plastic handles. The new protective covers are available for the following cabinets: PREMIUM PR:O 8, PR:O 10X, PR:O12, PR:O 15 and PR:O 15X .

When designing the ESYX EPX we especially had top 40 bands and power DJs in mind who often have to perform in front of larger audiences. Based on HK AUDIO technology two 12"/1" active satellites and four active 15" subwoofers provide a total of 2.400 watts, thus supplying a more than reassuring safety margin in all regards. Besides its generous headroom and good-natured sound design, the system combines outstandingly easy transport and rigging up with a highly flexible and modular setup. A simple flick of a switch turns the satellites into full-range cabinets so that for smaller club or pub gigs the subs can conveniently be left behind. For optimal alignment (3¿¿ and 7¿¿) the satellites feature our clever ESYS tilt plate. Furthermore M8 flying points integrated into the mid/high units, M20 pole mount adapters and 100-mm-wheels for the subs add to the vast usability of ESYS EPX as well as the ergonomically shaped handles without any protruding parts. ESYS EPX — this is as straightforward as a P.A. system can get. Just stack'em up and enjoy!

The CADIS system, the new Installation Array from HK AUDIO, was designed first and foremost for versatility. CADIS was developed for installations in theatres, civic and community centers, houses of worship, gymnasiums, conference centers and large meeting halls, as well as outdoor installation projects such as stadiums and theme parks. The Compact Adaptive Installation System, as it is called by its full name, is noteworthy not only for its extraordinary flexibility and sonic performance, but also for the ruggedness of its components. For example, the German-made mid/high unit sports a housing made of polyamide resin, an especially durable, weatherproof space-age plastic. Since injection-molded polyamide resin also happens to be highly antiresonant, it lends itself quite well for the construction of loudspeaker enclosures. The passive CAD 208 mid/high unit is loaded with two 8" midrange speakers, two 1" high-frequency drivers with a concentric double horn and a 2.5-way crossover network. Since the horns have a dispersion angle of 100° x 15100°, it is possible to achieve an excellent horizontal and vertical coverage pattern with just a few units. Sonically, the CAD 208 produces a high degree of speech intelligibility down to the last syllable, yet in spite of its compact size and low weight of barely 16.5 kg it can also be used as a full-range system for background music even without a subwoofer. For the best possible audio performance and coverage pattern, the CAD 208 mid/high unit can also be driven in 3-way active mode with the HK AUDIO FIRNET Controller. The subwoofer designed specifically for the system, the passive CAD 115 Sub, is loaded with a high-performance 15" neodymium loudspeaker that makes a perfect low-end complement to the CAD 208 mid/high units thanks to the quickness of speaker's response and its impulse accuracy. The CAD 115 is also outfitted with rigging hardware and can be situated either above the mid/high units in a flown array, as a separate flown bass array, or in ground-stacking mode. For additional flexibility, other existing subwoofer models in the HK AUDIO Installation Line may be combined with the new CADIS CAD 208. With its unobtrusive yet upscale appearance, the new CADIS system will blend into the interior design of any given structure quite attractively. Black and white models are both kept in stock as standard offerings, and versions in any RAL color can be special-ordered. The cabinets include several features which make installation easy and quick: the same integral 3-point rigging system as the COHEDRA COMPACT Line Array, the low cabinet weight, and the choice of connection terminals. The UV-resistant weather resistant construction and the IP 44 classification make CADIS an excellent choice for outdoor installations or other high-humidity locations such as indoor swimming pools. The rigging hardware, which has been safety-tested according to rigorous German standards, permits array sizes of up to twenty-four CAD 208 mid/high units. This allows extraordinary installation flexibility, as the same system can be configured in the most diverse ways, yet perfectly appropriately for each individual project. Simulation software and requisite EASE data are included with the CADIS system. And of course CADIS is 100% made-in-Germany! Since the horns have a dispersion angle of 100¿¿ x 15¿¿, it is possible to achieve an excellent horizontal and vertical coverage pattern with just a few units.
