BC Audio Introduces Amplifier No. 9 and Amplifier No. 10

True point-to-point amps offer big power and innovative live performance
features.

San Francisco, September 19, 2011 -- BC Audio (www.bcaudio.com) has
introduced two new models, Amplifier No. 9 and Amplifier No. 10. The new
models combine classic power sections with unique octal preamp designs and
BC Audio's famous true point-to-point wiring.  The entire BC Audio line
will be demonstrated at the LA Amp Show (www.ampshow.com), October 1 & 2.

Amplifier No. 9 is a 45-watt non-Master Volume amplifier with a variable
foot-switchable Boost.  The tried-and-true combination of a pair of KT66s
and a GZ34 rectifier takes on new life with Amplifier No. 9’s three octal
6SL7 preamp tubes, giving the amp a huge sound and a unique voice.

"Amplifier No. 9 is the big brother to the award-winning Amplifier No. 7,
with more power and a built-in Boost," says BC Audio founder Bruce
Clement. "It has an intentionally simple and direct signal path, no tone
stack and amazing clarity."

Controls are Normal Volume, Bright Volume, Boost (footswitch included),
Presence and Depth.  An optional tube-buffered effects loop features Send
Level, Return Level and a True Bypass switch.  Amplifier No. 9 has
selectable 4, 8 or 16 ohm output impedance.

Amplifier No. 10 is a no-holds-barred 50 watt smoking-hot tone monster. 
It features a pair of EL34s and four 6SL7s, and is BC Audio's first model
with Bass, Mid and Treble controls.  Other controls are Gain, Gain Boost,
Volume, Volume Boost, Presence and Depth.  Gain Boost and Volume Boost are
independently foot-switchable with the included dual footswitch.

"Amplifier No. 10 is highly touch sensitive, with a thick, woody tone,"
says Clement.  "And with a true Volume Boost as well as Gain Boost – both
of which are variable at the front panel – Amplifier No. 10 gives the
gigging guitar player more live performance flexibility than most
channel-switching amps."



A tube-buffered effects loop with Send Level, Return Level and a True
Bypass switch is provided on the rear panel.  Amplifier No. 10 has
selectable 4, 8 or 16 ohm output impedance.

New HotRod Guitar Speaker Cabinets from Award Winning Boutique Amp Builder.

BC Audio introduces Celestion-loaded guitar speaker cabinets to match their eye-catching and critically acclaimed amp heads.

BC Audio's new speaker cabinets are available in 1x12 and 2x12 closed-back designs with power-handling ranging from 25 to 140 watts. The cab designs echo the hot-rod looks of BC Audio's amp heads, featuring an offset vertical racing stripe. "The racing stripe was inspired by my love of motorsports, and reflects the hot-rodded plexi sound of the recently introduced Amplifier No. 8", says BC Audio founder and award-winning guitarist Bruce Clement.

The standard colors are black with a red stripe. Other colors are available, including "Vette" (red with white stripe), "Stang" (white with blue stripe) and "Gulf" (light blue with orange and black stripes). The speaker cloth is woven cane.

Speaker selections include Celestion Vintage 30, G12L-30 and Greenback. Customers may order mixed speakers in the 2x12 cabinet. Features include void-free Birch ply construction, high-quality levant coverings, woven cane grill cloth, chrome plated hardware, and dual input jacks for daisy-chaining multiple cabs. The 2x12 features black recessed side handles and casters. The cabs are closed-back designs for punch and projection.

Award‐winning Boutique Builder Expands Line of Medium‐power Amps

BC Audio (www.bcaudio.com) is set to introduce new products for the gigging guitarist at the LA Amp Show, October 2‐3, 2010. The new offerings include two versions of Amplifier No. 8 (a high‐gain 25 watt guitar amp) and a new version of its critically acclaimed Amplifier No. 7.

Amplifier No. 8

To complement its flagship Amplifier No. 7, BC Audio has designed the new Amplifier No. 8 with increased gain and a Master Volume architecture. Its tonal palette is influenced strongly by "hot‐rod plexi" sounds. A unique Drive circuit ‐ developed by BC Audio and not found in any other amp ‐ allows for colossal sustain AND thick, rich cleans without channel switching.

"A common problem with many high‐gain amps is that they don't have good clean and semi‐dirty sounds," says BC Audio founder and award winning guitarist Bruce Clement. "The Drive circuit of Amplifier No. 8 solves this problem in a simple and effective way. You end up with vast territory to explore between chimey clean and liquid singing sustain."

Amplifier No. 8 is a 25 watt single‐channel amp head, featuring a pair of 5881 output tubes in a Class A cathode biased configuration and a GZ34 tube rectifier. Unique is the use of 6SL7 octal preamp tubes, rather than the ubiquitous 12AX7. Equally uncommon, Amplifier No. 8 features true point‐to‐point wiring, not turret board or eyelet board construction (which are often incorrectly referred to as “point‐to‐point”). Controls include Drive, Volume and Presence.

Amplifier No. 8 will be available housed in a US Army surplus ammo can, or a more traditional tolex‐covered head box.

Amplifier No. 7

BC Audio's critically acclaimed flagship Amplifier No. 7 has until now been available housed in a US Army surplus ammo can. At the LA Amp Show, BC Audio will unveil a tolex‐covered wood head box version of the amp. The chassis has been redesigned to accommodate rear panel mounted power connection and speaker output jack. The ammo can version will continue to be offered alongside the new head box version.

"BC Audio is all about being different while being familiar," says BC Audio founder and award‐winning guitarist Bruce Clement. "Like the octal preamp tubes and true point‐to‐point wiring, the ammo can is something unique and cool. And now we can also accommodate players who prefer a more traditional look and layout."

The head boxes are constructed of void‐free birch ply and feature dovetail joinery and high quality coverings and hardware. The black head boxes sport an offset vertical red racing stripe and black anodized aluminum front panels with white lettering.

BC Audio To Offer Ammo Can Guitar Amps In Three Styles

Boutique Amp Builder Offers "Fresh" to "Fresh-off-the-Battlefield" Looks

BC Audio (http://www.bcaudio.com) is now offering visual styling options for its critically acclaimed Amplifier No.7, a 15 or 25 watt boutique guitar amp housed in rugged military surplus ammo cans.

BC Audio has developed a source of newly manufactured ammo cans, untouched by the military, which become the "Clean" style Amplifier No. 7. Additionally, BC Audio has uncovered a stash of ammo cans that have a distinctive "fresh-off-the-battlefield" look – a sandier shade of olive drab, more stenciled lettering, over-painted areas, military identification stickers and the like. These become the "Extreme" style. The traditional style offered to date is now called "Classic."

"The Extreme ammo cans really look the business!" says BC Audio founder and award-winning amp builder and guitarist Bruce Clement. "At the other end of the spectrum, you can have a nearly brand new ammo can, which is unheard of. Well, guitar amps in ammo cans are kind of unheard of, too."

BC Audio is set to introduce its flagship Amplifier No. 7 at the California World Guitar Show at the Marin County Civic Center July 25-26, 2009. The hand-made vacuum tube guitar amps are built inside of US Army surplus .50 caliber ammunition boxes, or "ammo cans." Unlike the majority of models offered by "boutique" amp builders, Amplifier No. 7 is not a clone of any particular amp of yesteryear, but a new and original design. Its tones are firmly rooted in classic "tweed" and "plexi" amps, but Amplifier No. 7 possesses its own "voice," one ideally suited to rock and electric blues styles. "I designed Amplifier No. 7 to be the ideal rock amp for live club and concert work," says BC Audio founder and award winning guitarist Bruce Clement. "For me, 'plexi' and 'tweed' are not buzzwords.
